So many things that we use today did not even exist in the 60s: Cell phones, Smart Phones, iPads, garage door openers, MP3 players, heated socks, cable TV, cordless drills, etc.

The Harlem Globetrotters were formed in Chicago and didn't play a game of basketball in Harlem until 1968, forty years after they were founded.

The US Patent for Lava Lamps was permitted in 1968.

There were four mysterious submarine disappearances. The USS Scorpion, the Israeli sub  marine INS Dakar, the French submarine Minerve and the Soviet submarine K-129 all went down.
