Ideas for the Graduation Ceremony
When
your child graduates from school and receives his/her diploma, it’s an event
you’ll always want to remember. Here
are a few ideas for
the Graduation Ceremony
The
graduates vote for the following:
Colors
for the caps and gowns
The
Bible verse
Song(s)
that will be sung during the graduation ceremony
What
graduates will give addresses
Who
will pray
Who
will introduce the Master of Ceremony
Who
will introduce the Commencement Speaker
Have roses for the graduates to hand to their mothers, as the parents wait for them to cross the stage and receive their diploma from their parents.
Take pictures for that special moment and others.
Don’t forget to let them throw their caps!
Ceremony Etiquette

Some
schools embrace lively and free-spirited graduation ceremonies. But before you
break out the beach balls and noisemakers, consider these factors:

What
are the traditions of your particular school? If graduation is a more formal
and somber rite of passage, it's probably better to replace whooping and
hollering with applause.

In
most schools, the handing out of diplomas is a quick and orderly process. Make
sure that when you show pride in your graduate, you aren't drowning out the
recognition of another.
·
Life's
milestones deserve everyone's full attention. Turn off your cell phones and
resist the urge to text until the entire ceremony is over. Remain in your seat
until the last students receive their diplomas so that they feel properly
acknowledged.
Ideas for your scrapbook:

Other items you can include are excerpts from the commencement program, pieces of confetti, and heartfelt congratulations from friends and family. Decorate the pages using school colors.

Cupcake Toppers
Create the cupcake toppers with Microsoft Publisher.
Use a 2 inch round punch for the circles.
All the other details are printed on the cardstock.
Print out a sheet of these circles and punch them out
Attach them to lollipop sticks with a small round sticker on the back. You can just use tape (no one looks at the back!)
Then just insert into the middle of the cupcake!
If you have a lid that is going to go on top of your cupcake carrier box then you might want to wait to put the toppers in the cupcake until you set them up at the event so they don’t get smashed.

Dollar Diplomas
I really like this idea.
Give your graduates the other piece of paper they really want. Roll up dollar bills, tie them with a ribbon, and place them in a gift box. Then decorate the box with stickers.
Lightbulb Graduation Gift
So cute!
Roll up the bills and then fold them in half (to prevent them from unrolling inside of the jar). Put them in the jar and tighten the lid. Attach a ribbon and a cute message.

How to make graduation NAME CARDS
It’s really not that hard.
Just follow the steps below.
1.
Open Microsoft Word document
2. Click on Insert
3.
Click on Text Box
4. Choose Draw a Text Box
5.
Click on the text box you’ve drawn
6.
There will be blue squares on the perimeter
7. Click on Format
10.
Choose Square.
Square means you can now move the text box around in the document.
Format it to 1.1” x 2.6”
12. Click on the down arrow to the left of Change Shape. Choose the style shown below.
13. Format your choice of color by clicking on Shape outline

Move the 2nd text box into the 1st
box
16.
Format 2nd box to the front 
17.
Create 3rd text box (Repeat steps 1 - 10) Format to this size
18. Format the 3rd box outline by clicking on Shape Outline, then No Outline

How to Wear the Cap and Gown
Preparing to march to "Pomp and Circumstance"
requires wearing the traditional graduation cap and gown, a tradition that dates back centuries to the early
universities in Europe.
Here's how to wear your cap and gown:

The graduation cap is worn flat on the head,
parallel to the floor. The front point of the cap should be centered on the
forehead.
·
The graduation gown should fall midway
between the knee and ankle.
·
Men should remove their graduation caps
during the school song and the National Anthem.
·
Tassels are usually worn on the right side
and shifted to the left when graduates receive their diplomas.
·
Men generally wear dark trousers and dress
shirts and ties under their graduation gowns.
·
Women generally wear lightweight dresses or
blouses and skirts that do not hang below their graduation gowns. They can also

How to Send Formal Graduation Announcements
Whether you’re inviting
guests to the actual graduation ceremony or sharing your achievement with your
distant relatives and friends, graduation announcements let you officially
recognize and share a graduate’s achievements.
Here are a few pointers:
1. Insert your name card into the die-cut holders.
Some graduates include a senior photo in the
announcement.
If your school requires
tickets to attend the graduation ceremony,
you can also include them with your announcement.
2. If you don’t want people to feel obligated to buy you a gift, write
"No gifts please" at the bottom of the announcement.
3. Place the tissue overlay inside your assembled announcement.
You can also insert your graduation
party invitation or open house card into the graduation announcement.
4. Insert the announcement into the inner envelope, attach a monogram seal and write the recipient's
informal name on the front.
Do not lick or tuck in the inner envelope flap.
You can address this informally, such as "Grandma"
or "Uncle John."
5. Insert the sealed inner envelope into the outer envelope (so that the name faces
out). Attach a {year date} seal, and the address on the front.
