Lightbulb Graduation Gift

So cute!

Roll up the bills and then fold them in half (to prevent them from unrolling inside of the jar). Put them in the jar and tighten the lid. Attach a ribbon and a cute message.

I found these at  Hobby Lobby.

How to Wear the Cap and Gown

Preparing to march to "Pomp and Circumstance" requires wearing the traditional graduation cap and gown, a tradition that dates back centuries to the early universities in Europe.

Here's how to wear your cap and gown:

·         The graduation cap is worn flat on the head, parallel to the floor. The front point of the cap should be centered on the forehead.

·         The graduation gown should fall midway between the knee and ankle.

·         Men should remove their graduation caps during the school song and the National Anthem.

·         Tassels are usually worn on the right side and shifted to the left when graduates receive their diplomas.

·         Men generally wear dark trousers and dress shirts and ties under their graduation gowns.

·         Women generally wear lightweight dresses or blouses and skirts that do not hang below their graduation gowns. They can also wear a detachable white collar that adds a more finished, decorative touch.

·         Flowers and jewelry should not be worn on the academic gown.

·         Caps and gowns can be accessorized with specific regalia like stoles and honor cords in keeping with the traditions of the school.

How to Send Formal Graduation Announcements

Most of us aren't in the practice of sending formal invitations on a regular basis.

Whether you’re inviting guests to the actual graduation ceremony or sharing your achievement with your distant relatives and friends, graduation announcements let you officially recognize and share a graduate’s achievements.

Here are a few pointers:

1.  Insert your name card into the die-cut holders.  Some graduates include a senior photo in the announcement.

If your school requires tickets to attend the graduation ceremony,    you can also include them with your announcement.

2.  If you don’t want people to feel obligated to buy you a gift, write
"No gifts please" at the bottom of the announcement.

3.  Place the tissue overlay inside your assembled announcement.

You can also insert your graduation party invitation or open house card into the graduation announcement.
4.  Insert the announcement into the inner envelope, attach a monogram seal and write the recipient's informal name on the front.  Do not lick or tuck in the  inner envelope flap.  You can address this informally, such as "Grandma"  or "Uncle John."

5.  Insert the sealed inner envelope into the outer envelope (so that the name faces out).  Attach a {year date} seal, and the address on the front.
Address your mailing envelopes by hand.
Use titles like "Ms." or "Dr." Spell out words completely,  rather than using abbreviations  ("Street" rather than "St.").

6.  Affix a return address label to the front of your finished announcement envelope.

7.  Send announcements no less than 2 weeks before the ceremony for those attending.  Announcements can be sent as much as 6 weeks after to others.

What should Christians do about Halloween?

This is exactly how I feel!  About Halloween.  About Easter eggs & symbols.  About the Christmas tree & decorations.

Quoted text from Intentional By Grace:
"What are Christians supposed to do with Halloween, a holiday that celebrates death, fear, darkness, witches, and demons? A day that seems to be becoming increasingly evil in focus?

Should we celebrate Halloween in the same way as our non-Christian neighbors?
Should we turn off our lights on October 31st and huddle in the basement, hoping that people will think that we are not home?
Should we write condemning Facebook posts about the evils of Halloween in an attempt to inform the consciences of the “worldly” Christians around us?
Is handing a piece of candy to a four-year-old neighbor boy dressed up as Captain America really a sin?
Where should Christians draw the line?
I do not want to encourage any Christian to violate his conscience in the matter of Halloween. Nor do I want to guilt-trip any Christian into feeling that it is her duty to witness on Halloween. I am merely asking: Could it be that we Christians, as a whole group, are so busy arguing over the technicalities of Halloween that we are missing a beautiful opportunity to share the gospel?"

She says, "Paul did an amazing thing. He used a pagan altar with the inscription “To An Unknown God” as an object lesson to start telling the people about the One True God Who alone deserved their worship."

This is what I said in a book about Christmas I'm getting ready to publish:
Imagine that…. St. Paul used a pagan religious idol to preach about the Jewish Messiah who is the Christian Savior!
